#Educate a girl and you educate a nation. Worldwide, over 780 million people can't read or write. Of those 780 million, 64% are #women.
When women and girls are empowered through education, societies have shown a strong correlation between educating women and girls and higher maternal and child life expectancy, as well as improvements in child
and family health and nutrition. Educating a girl greatly reduces the chance that her children will die before age 5. In many countries, a mother with secondary education more than halves the risk of childhood mortality compared to a mother with no education. Girls and women who are educated are more likely to immunize their children and their children are less likely to be malnourished.
“Everything in the world is about to be wrapped up, so take nothing for granted. Stay wide-awake in prayer. Most of all, love each other as if your life depended on it. Love makes up for practically anything. Be quick to give a meal to the hungry, a bed to the homeless—cheerfully. Be generous with the different things God gave you, passing them around so all get in on it: if words, let it be God’s words; if help, let it be God’s hearty help. That way, God’s bright presence will be evident in everything through Jesus, and he’ll get all the credit as the One mighty in everything—encores to the end of time. Oh, yes!”
